group show

Mike and jared, we can discuss the show here. I like jared's idea of works on paper, a show about drawing, though maybe drawing in painting. Drawing with paint! Like Light Brite.

hola machotes,

the drawing with paint thing definitely works - i'm wondering if we can make any further connections other than formal. if we're using existing work, the stuff i have in cordell's flat file is what i'd be showing. those drawings are more about the process than the image...making my drawings more into objects by layering glassine and wood glue. the imagery is almost random (the cloud and atari shapes) but i'm going to continue mining it in an abstract narrative vein. i'll be working on more which will go further in emphasizing odd-shaped paper to push the art-object element. you may now respond.

I definately think we should do a light bright show.

i can get a hold of at least one, maybe even two, light bright kits if needed.

the light brite show would rock. We could call ours "making things with paint", and put our painting/drawings on light boxes.

I have two light brite sets.

we could even make our own large light brite boxes. I could even build some 3-d light brite sculpture boxes.

so i'm struggling through personal statements for grad schools. i wish i could make a statement about the art instead of these "talk about yourself and why you want to go here." how are yours going joe?

hey joe, just saw todd over new year's here in p-city and he was also very relieved that i was also procrastinating all of my grad applications. i'm finally close to a finished personal statement....that's all i need now. its going to be a relief, like getting out of debt, to be done with those things. whats going on with the denver museum show thing?

hey Joe I found that gallery I was telling you about. here are some links >>>
