personal shopper

I was in Blockbuster tonight and witnessed the following: (a middle-aged man enters with a list of movies on a piece of paper) Do you have this? Do you have that? Do you have this? On video or DVD? For Rent or for sale? (the clerk, who happens to be behind the counter and the only one there, answers and directs him to the appropriate sections.) What about Pay it Forward and The Mission, do you have those? (the clerk says yes) Well, you wanna go get 'em for me or what? (the clerk tries to kill the man with his glare of death, but it has no effect on the lazy, ignorant-of-how-the video store works jerk. He actually ends up going and retreiving the videos for the guy. No thanks, no smile, just "Now are these for sale or for rent?" I wonder if that works at the grocery store?

The Indy 30-something

Tonight as I was driving to my studio I noticed a woman in a Mercedes next to me at a light. She was transfixed on the signal, just waiting for it to turn. Just before it did, she quickly crossed herself in the proper Catholic manner and as the light went green she floored it. She was doing no less than 80 all the way to the next signal (about a block through a tunnel) where she stopped as if nothing had happened. When it changed she drove off at a normal speed.
Afraid of the tunnel maybe? Practicing for the next Denver Grand Prix (which does use that same tunnel)? Middle-aged with three kids and getting a little fix of adreniline before going home to make mac and cheese and watch TV?

TRASH

I'm back! I couldn't log in for awhile, but I'm back in action, so...... time for a new cd. This month the theme is TRASH. John has dibs on Eurotrash Girl by Cracker. Feel free to interpret this theme how ever you see fit.
