special

So, believe it or not, Michelle was involved in another auto accident today. Three not-at-fault accidents in two months. This one resulted in a reckless driving ticket for the at-fault driver. No damage to our car at least, and no injuries. But, they still took her to the hospital by ambulance and we still spent 6 hours there while they checked her out.
The nurse that wheeled her to her room had on scrubs with a cartoon of a little boy in a wheelchair smiling and waving. The caption read "Dear God, thanks for making me special!" Aren't disabilities just adorable!

Named by America

I am giving you, the viewing public, a chance to vote for the best name for my soon to be born baby boy. This is a great responsibility I am entrusting you with, so don't let us down. And remember, I will probably not even consider a single name you come up with. Thank You

Onesie Madness

jets.JPG

Witness the Jets to Brazil onesie! Michelle and I were sick of the lame and boring baby clothes that are available. So we took matters into our own hands. We made 2 Promise Ring onesies, an Ecuadorean flag onesie, a Mr. Lunch onesie, and an elephant onesie besides the ones shown on the following posts. (these are not for resale so no law suits please)

I shoveled snow for 6 hours straight today. 6 hours! I can't move my arms. The whole neighborhood dug out as much of the road as we could. We had a couple of large trucks that would run down the street smashing through the snow until they got stuck, then we would dig them out and clear a path ahead of them so they could try again. Now big trucks can leave the neighborhood. Last night a woman down the street went into labor and had to be taken over her back fence by ladder. They hired a truck to come pick her up on the main street behind their house and take her to the hospital.

You can't handle the truth!

I sent this to Hunter the other day. Still no response.

I am puzzled. A week ago I received a letter of rejection from the MFA program at Hunter. Today I received another. This one was marked "corrected letter" in bold type. What does this mean, "On second thought we still don't want you"?
Are you trying to rub it in? Will I receive one a week until I apologize for applying?
If you could shed any light on this I would appreciate it.

Repitition is the mother of rejection

Today I received my second letter of rejection from Hunter college. Not my second letter of rejection including Hunter College, but my second letter from Hunter College. It seems they were afraid I might have misunderstood the first one. Some subtle regional difference in the usage of the term "you are not accepted" may have lead a Denverite like myself to howl in excitement, run a victory lap around my house , and pack my bags for grad school.
They even have this one marked in a bold, we're not messing around font, "Corrected Letter". I have yet to find any change in this letter, same wording, same "You are not accepted", same assurance that I was given every possible consideration (why not just say, "look buddy you aren't good enough, there were no errors, there is no favoritism, you just plain aren't good enough"?).
Repitition is the key to learning, and so through repitition they have helped me understand that no, I am not going to Hunter. " You are not accepted" does not mean "maybe", not even in Denver. Thank you Hunter College. Thank you.

Mommy, where do bears come from?

A kindergartener stopped Michelle in the hall yesterday. Ponting to her enormous belly he said,"Hey! Whatcha got in there?' She explained that she had a baby in there. He looked very dissapointed and as he walked off he sighed, "Oh..I thought it was a bear."
