here is a terrible photo of a new painting. the color is off and you can't see the heavy texture, but it looks a bit like this.

Ok so I am a man who ususally enjoys a nice picture of a Royal Mounted Policeman on a brown horse in the snowy woods. But I Like this. It not only looks professional but it is moving to me.The painterly technique seems sure handed and confident. It just inspires the confidence that you really know entirely what you are doing and that you are doing something profound. And one had better think about it because it deserves attention. And having exposed my abmismal ignorangce I say again, I like it. A lot.
It reminds me of blood that explodes, or rather, exploding blood if you will. Lets just put it this way, if you could somehow imagine blood exploding, this is it man. I like the shout out to your friend dave, with the oil rigs in the background...subtle and witty, yet fresh and alive. Personable and intimate, yet cruelly objective and socially noisy.
The thing about each of your pieces that I really like Joe, is the layers of beauty that seems to inhabit each piece. Each layer tells some story and each layer weaves it's story with the next. Like Maybe if I put on 3D glasses I will see some amazing untold story.
It is not my favorite of yours, but it is going somewhere profound maybe, or that something unforgettable is stirring. It seems as though the big picture is simple, but you have a beautiful way of telling it, or that you take the more beautiful route.
Okay, I got it. I take in your paintings the same way I take in a book. I open the book the same way a doctor opens a man's chest and sees inside and so that is how I look at the painting, almost like a sphere, with depth. Once upon a time opening a man's chest was likened to opening The Bible, because there were the works and the mysteries of God being unfolded. It was so daring back then. So when these ancient and puzzled scientists peeled back a cadaver's ribcage and connected all of the different truths that was God's work, and God's puzzle, I get more out of your painting when I approach it in the same way. Keep on Joe.

I love it. Your paintings really do have layers that aren't noticed without successive viewings.
When should I expect it? Just want to make sure someone is there to meet the UPS guy. I hate when they leave that yellow note on my door.
