30 days has September, April, June and my headache

Has everyone else had a headache for a month straight, or is it just me?

My doctor’s advice was “sometimes that happens”. Who does that happen to??? People that work on jet engines without hearing protection? I sit at a desk all day in a quiet little office. I’ve turned the volume way down on my phone, I’ve taken allergy meds just in case that is the issue, I’ve had an eeg (no tumors!), I’ve taken asprin. I’ve tried rubbing my temples while going “arrrrgh!”, and that didn’t even help. My doctor also said that since I have migraines they can express themselves in odd ways. I apparently have creative migraines.

I might start freebasing excedrin soon.

Creative migraines eh?

Such is your curse...

I thought you said "egg" and wondered what eggs have to do with tumors or headaches for that matter. Then i noticed that you said eeg. I don't have a joke about that. But, just more proof that you have more creativity in your little finger than most ________. (fill in the blank as you see fit)

when i was in high school and the "new kid" in our school in maryland, i had a recurring headache that lasted for about a month. it would get extremely severe around noon. my mom used to freeze the juice boxes she put in my lunch so they'd be cold and thawed by the time lunch rolled around. but they were always still frozen, and thank goodness. i would sit there at lunch every day with a frozen hi-c pressed to my forehead. it was the only thing that worked. it was theorized that it was stress induced. there was no clear reason.

Todd,
did they go away as you got more comfortable at your new school? Do you get migraines? I might try a frozen juice box.

Joe,
My migrains are often triggered by scents. I have to call my dentist's office the day befor my appointment and ask them not to burn their scented candle on the day of my appointment. Of course, I hate going to the dentist and my headache could be stress induced.
Are there any perfumes, candles, aftershaves, flowers or other smelly things in your office or house? I can't even use scented laundry soap.

today is day 30 of my very bad headache. 18 doctor visits 8 to family practice, 2 neurologist,2 ent,2 dental and 4 chiropractic. ct sinus ct brain, mri brain and tomorrow another specialist at barnes in st. louis. i've never had anything like this.always been healthy. i'm hooping to find out something tomorrow. hope you feel better soon too. kathy

hi again. I hope your headache is better by now. I spent 3 night s in the hospital with 8 rounds of depakote an 50mg daily of doxepin. I got out yesterday and as of today I actually do feel better. I still have the headache, but its nothing like it was. I even went to the grocery store today, the neurologist called it a status migraine, and said they are not that uncommon. I'm still on depakote and doxepin and axert as needed. I hope you are doing much better, If not, look up status migraine and "new persistent daily headache" kww

Wow! I have heard of status migraines but never had one. I hope you feel better soon! Even my bad migraines are never that bad!
My headache faded out after about day 40 or so. Mine never felt like a migraine, just a low grade constant ache with a little nausea. I've been able to control my migraines for the most part with Trileptal. When I have them they are far less intense then they used to be and far less frequent. I really do hope you feel better and that you never have to go through that again. Thanks for your comments

Did they check your nose, throat, and ears? Sinus infections are a great way to get a migraine, and I had an infection for about a month without knowing.

They did check my sinuses, it turs out they were more or less swollen shut. I think allergies may have been the culprit.

Good heavens, I would be praying to be "taken to the other side" every night if my migraines lasted that long.

I honestly have found that hitting myself repeatedly on the head at the approximate migraine ground-zero helps a bit. You tend to get strange looks from passers-by, but it's like it temporarily dislodges the neurons and keeps them from firing accurately. (This is a scientific fact. I got an "A" in Physical Science my freshman year.) The only med that even makes a dent in my migraines is massive doses of Ibuprofin; but if I take it for too long, it causes big canker sores on my soft palate. (This is true, and is actually, truly scientifically possible. I think.)

If Josh is the Patron Saint of Back Pain, maybe we can fast-track you as the Patron Saint of Migraine Headaches. You two could make alot of money off of royalties from the sale of charms, figurines, rear-view-mirror danglies...you name it.

I know 2 people who experienced headaches for months following flu shot

I hope your headache is better. I know how it is to have them I have been having them since I was in the 5th grade and they get so bad at times I black out with them. I have already had 3 neck surgeries to try to help mine but I still have them.

Thirty days has September,
All the rest I can't remember,
Why bother with this rhyme at all,
Just look at the calendar on the wall.
